CompGeo Online! Selected as 'One of Eight Top Salary Sites'
by Money Magazine
For Immediate Release: August 5, 2000

In the September 2000 issue of Money Magazine, CompGeo Online was found to be one of the '8 Top Salary Sites'. The Top Salary Site Article 'Get Paid More' was written by Leslie Haggin Geary with Roberta Kirwan with additional reporting: Sangita Malhotra, Benjamin Ryan, Lauren Shepherd and Brook Crandell Wilkinson of Money Magazine. In their Scorecard Overall Rating...

MOST COMPREHENSIVE: CompGeo Online

Money magazine notes that CompGeo Online is an 'outstanding site that charges a range of fees'. In their 'Lay of the Land' section of the article, Money Magazine notes that 'Executives..... may find it worthwhile to shell out as much as $299, as we did, or even more at a site like CompGeo Online for the kind of sophisticated report that human-resources departments use to set pay scales.'

In terms of value of service Money Magzaine purchased surveys under-cover for the story and noted with regard to CompGeo Online 'when we spent $299 for a legal salaries report, we received a nearly 50-page trove of information that's normally used by human-resources departments and recruiters, with ranges of compensation for precisely defined jobs in various cities and towns nationwide. It also documented average pay increases and compared salaries by region and in public and private sectors.'

In the Money Magazine Top Salary Sites Scorecard CompGeo Online received Five Star Awards in Three out of Six Categories, namely, Number of Job Titles, Job Definitions/Experience and Earnings Potential(how well career ladder information was handled) and a Four Star Overall Ranking. The only criticism Money Magazine had with regard to CompGeo Online was in the area of design.

According to Bob Hughes, President and CTO of The Clayton Wallis Company 'we are constantly trying to improve the design and ease of use of CompGeo Online and CompGeo Online Professional. The wide range of report options and unique salary forecasting options not found elsewhere makes CompGeo Online and CompGeo Online Professional not only unique in terms of value but also a constant challenge for us in delivering a product that is easily absorbed by individuals seeking salary information as it is by experienced compensation professionals seeking the most advanced salary and compensation research platform available.'

Bob further noted that '.....with regard to the 'free' salary information sites, we feel that the Money Magazine article clearly indicates that, in the long run, 'you get what you pay for' and that CompGeo Online is the best value for Online Salary and Compensation Research in terms of comprehensiveness and reliability.'

According to Suzin Barnes, President, HR Austin, "CompGeo Online and had a very good first time experience. Once we received the information from CompGeo On line we did a validation check and secured same data through the more traditional channels. Their numbers were solid......I am a human resource consultant for small businesses. My clients could never afford to purchase some of the hefty salary surveys that are out there. CompGeo hit the mark and we were able to purchase only what we needed, the information was great and on target."

CompGeo Online covers 23 Occupation Salary Groups. Occupation Salary Groups include Agriculture/Forestry, Art/Design, Construction, Education, Finance, Human Resources, Insurance, Manufacturing, Mining, Transportation, Travel/Enterainment/Lodging, Utilities and more.

Salary survey results not meeting acceptable sampling confidence levels are not included in the CompGeo Online Salary and Compensation Research Database. OMF Job and Competency Analysis System Featured in
Human Resource Management by Mathis and Jackson (2000)
For Immediate Release: February 18, 2000

In the ninth revision of Human Resources Management by Robert L. Mathis and John H. Jackson (2000) just released the OMF Job and Competency Analysis System Web Site is a featured reference in their chapter on Analyzing and Identifying Jobs.

Modern Job and Competency Analysis requires a comprehensive data collection device. The OMF System developed by Clayton Wallis provides an extensive analytical tool which carefully gathers a wealth of job information in tune with the myriad of demands of governmental regulations and proven effective Job, Performance and Competency Analysis techniques. Today, software that "automatically" produces job descriptions is becoming more popular.

Use of such "cut and paste job description software" without a comprehensive Job and Competency Analysis Methodology usually results in job descriptions, performance standards and competencies which are unreliable and inaccurate. The consequences associated with inaccurate job descriptions, performance standards and competency references can be extensive.

A new database-driven release of the OMF Job and Competency Analysis System is expected to be released at the end of the Second Quarter 2000. The system will be compatible with Windows 95/98 , NT/2000 and current Macintosh OS level v8 or higher systems.
